Bi Bar is leaving Crush

We at Bi Brigade have been hosting Bi Bar at Crush since 2012. We are incredibly saddened and disappointed by their behavior. It's unfortunate that after several years of attempts from the community, Crush ownership and leadership continue to erase the experiences of those who have been hurt, abused, and discriminated against at its venue. We stand in solidarity with the Crush Bar Workers Collective, and with all who have been hurt by Crush. We will not be hosting Bi Bar in their venue anymore. Doing so would not be in line with the values we seek to uphold.

As a community, it is vital we always stand up for the most vulnerable among us. If any of us aren't safe, none of us are safe. If any of us are left out, we are broken, partial, fractured, hollow. Being intersectional is how our spaces can be safe, full, rich, whole. Community is nothing if we do not stand together.

Bi Bar will continue elsewhere. We, Portland's Bi+ community, make Bi Bar what it is. Not any location, any one specific bar. Bi Brigade is wherever we are.
